XXXIV Sergej Saltykow Memorial Meeting

In the organization of the Institute of Pathology, School of Medicine in Zagreb, dr. Sven Seiwerth, and Croatian society of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, a 34th annual Sergej Saltikow Meeting was held in Zagreb on 4th and 5th of November 2016. Sergej Saltikow, a Croatian and Russian pathologist, founded in 1922 the Department for General and Pathological Anatomy at the School of Medicine in Zagreb, and was the Head of the same department (1922-1952) and full professor since 1932. In his honor the memorial meeting was held, and the presentations and lectures were given by dr. Stephan Dirnhofer and dr. Alexander Tzankov from Switzerland, as well as dr. Stanko Jukić, dr. Željko Grabarević and dr. Vladimir Mrljak from Croatia. VetMedZg project coordinator prof. Vladimir Mrljak held a presentation on ''Proteomic approach in the discovery of new biomarkers on the model of dogs with Babesia canis infection and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.'' VetMedZg work package leader prof. Željko Grabarević held a lecture on ''Lymphoma in cats and dogs - a possible model for human malignancies?''
