''Palaeobiology and palaeopathology of Pleistocene large mammals'' lecture by Prof. Dr. Uwe Kierdorf

VetMedZg project invites you to a lecture of our foreign guest expert, Prof. Dr Uwe Kierdorf, Department of Biology, University of Hildesheim, Germany. Prof. Kierdorf will hold a lecture on ''Palaeobiology and palaeopathology of Pleistocene large mammals'', on Thursday 6th of October 2016, at the lecture room of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, beginning at 12.00 pm. The Pleistocene was characterized by repeated shifts between glacial and interglacial climatic conditions and related changes between cold-adapted and warm-adapted faunas. The talk presents palaeobiological and palaeopathological findings on the species of cold-adapted large mammals from the Late Pleistocene (Weichselian glacial period) and warm-adapted species from the late Early Pleistocene (c. 1.05 MaBP) site of Untermassfeld, Germany.
