Anita Horvatić, PhD, finished a training in Thermo Fisher Scientific Centre

Anita Horvatić, PhD, one of experienced researchers of the VetMedZg project ERA Chair team, went recently through a 4-day training (QE Biotech Training Course) in Thermo Fisher Scientific Center of Excellence in Hemel Hempstead, UK. Training was held by experienced instructor Dr. Andrew Williamson, in cooperation with Dr. David Munoz, and was specific to the Thermo Scientific™ Q Exactive™ mass spectrometer and UltiMate 3000 RSLCnano system and their utilisation for protein and peptide analysis. The training consisted of theoretical and practical part and included instrument calibration, basic maintenance and troubleshooting, acquisition method setup and development (DDA, SIM, PRM, DIA, intact protein analysis), sample analysis and data processing by Proteome Discoverer software. Other than the knowledge gained during the training, Dr. Horvatić also established some useful contacts for the future work on the project.
